The second of Nevada's many different 2001 big game hunting seasons will open on Saturday morning.
It is the opening day of the archery, pronghorn antelope hunting season for most of the open, big game management areas. This season will close on Aug. 19.
Big game animals hunted in Nevada include pronghorn antelope, mule deer, Rocky Mountain elk, California bighorn sheep, desert bighorn sheep, Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, Rocky Mountain goat and mountain lion.
The types of weapons which can be used for selected species are bow and arrow, muzzleloader and rifle.
All Nevada big game hunters are required to have in their possession a valid hunting license and the proper big game hunting tag.
