Phillip Weaver Lewis, 77, a Carson City resident for the past seven years, died July 31, 2001, in Carson City. He was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Altadena, Calif. to Walter and Ruth Dennis Lewis.
He graduated from Antelope Valley High School.
He moved to Antelope Valley, Calif., in 1939, to Juniper Hills, Calif., in 1960, to Pearblossom, Calif., in 1960 and to Carson City in 1994.
Mr. Lewis was a turkey rancher for 40 years and he also grew apples. He retired in 1986. He was a member of the Antelope Valley Sheriff's Posse, the AV Turkey Growers Association and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
He served in the U.S. Navy for two years.
He was preceded in death by brothers Robert and John and sister Evelyn Peterson.
Among his survivors are his wife Barbara of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Steven and Ginny Lewis of Carson City; son Michael of Pearblossom; daughter-in-law Bella Lewis; grandchildren Stephanie and Tyler of Carson City and Phillip and Kenneth of Pearblossom and brother Dick of Ridgecrest, Calif.
At his request, no service will be held.
A private cremation will be held.
