GENOA - Chris Goeschel was recently appointed the new Head Golf Professional at Genoa Lakes.
A "Class A" golf pro since 1998, Goeschel is a graduate of the prestigious San Diego Golf Academy and PGA Business School. He will oversee a variety of course aspects including golf shop operations, outside service personnel, training, policies and procedures as well as instruction.
Goeschel brings 11 years of experience to the position. He spent the past three years at Orinda Country Club as First Assistant Professional handling all aspects of the golf shop operations, tournament operations and events including the 1998 Pac-10 Conference Championship. He also spent two seasons at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, a two-year stint at Carson Valley Golf Course as Head Golf Professional and three years at Incline
Village as Assistant Golf Professional.
"There have been $8 million in improvements here since the change in ownership," explains Goeschel. "I'm looking forward to being a part of the changes at Genoa Lakes and enhancing the golf experience for everyone who plays here."
A native of Nevada, Goeschel's educational background is as extensive as his work experience. Following graduation from George Whittel High School in Zephyr Cove, Goeschel went on to the San Diego Golf Academy where he earned a degree in Golf
Operations Management. He has also completed PGA Business Schools I and II and several continuing education courses. Goeschel participated in the NCGA Rules Seminar, Dale Carnegie Seminar, and Dr. Glen Albaugh Sports Psychology Seminar.
Goeschel and his wife, Aimee, reside in Minden.
