A memorial service for Richard Kear Turner, 53, a Carson City resident for the past 11 years, is at 3 p.m. Thursday at Connolly and Taylor Funeral Home, 4000 Alhambra Ave., in Martinez, Calif.
Mr. Turner died Aug. 19, 2001, at his home. He was born April 1, 1948, in Lansing, Mich., to Richard Kear and Minnie Victorine Rodgers Turner. Prior to living in Carson City he resided in Martinez.
He worked in maintenance.
Mr. Turner was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
Among his survivors are his sons Christopher Turner and wife Patti of Lewisberg, Penn., and Nathan Turner of Laguna, Calif.; sisters Janis Weber and husband Scott of Modesto, Calif., and Wanda Silveira and husband Dave of Martinez; brothers Norval Turner and wife Nancy of San Diego and Ronald Turner and wife Wendy of Champaign, Ill.; former wife Judy Shallenberger of Genoa, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation is under the direction of Walton's Sierra Crematory in Carson City.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
