Galena High graduate Julie Hinton should be among the runners to make an impact for the University of Nevada women's cross country team as it opens the season.
Nevada opens the season with a race at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacramento State. Nevada returns nine runners from last year's team that placed fifth in the Western Athletic Conference.
Nevada coach Kay Gooch said Hinton should be among the runners to make an impact along with other newcomers Virginia Johnson, Kendall Knowles and Monica Mryhow and returners Erin Seward, Lindsay Robertson and Christina Smith.
