LOS ANGELES - A city fire department ambulance and a public bus collided late Thursday, injuring two bus passengers and two paramedics, city fire Battalion Chief Andrew Fox said.
All the injuries were minor but the victims were transported to hospitals for evaluation, Fox said.
The accident occurred in the downtown area around 11:30 p.m. The ambulance was responding with lights on and siren blaring to an emergency call, and collided with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus while making a left turn, Fox said.
Police were investigating what caused the collision.
The paramedic driving the ambulance injured his left shoulder and the other paramedic complained of a stiff right knee, Fox said. The two male, adult bus passengers also suffered minor injuries.
The collision also caused minor damage to the bus and ambulance.
