Mid-day PRIDE buses to Reno were so full Monday and Tuesday that some riders had to be left behind.

"We apologize for anybody being left behind," Jim McGrath, a marketing associate at the Washoe County Regional Transportation Commission, which administers the PRIDE service. "We've arranged for backup buses to catch everybody."

Extra buses will be available today to carry passengers if scheduled buses fill up. McGrath said the two mid-day buses from Carson City filled to capacity Monday and Tuesday and one bus from Reno filled up Tuesday.

PRIDE carried 1,627 passengers in its first week of service last week, exceeding expectations by several hundred.

PRIDE is offering free service to Reno and back through the end of this week. Starting Monday, a one-way bus ride will cost adults $3, seniors $1.50 and youths $2.
