Capitols beat Mira Loma

Dustin Pedroia and Dustin Hahn belted home runs and Pat Reilly pitched a one-hitter as the Carson Capitols strolled past Mira Loma, 15-0, during amateur baseball action Friday night at Carson High School.


The Capitols scored five runs in the first inning and added eight more runs in the second en route to a win that improved their summer record to 44-9.


Five players connected for multiple hits to lead Carson's 12-hit assault. Pedroia was 2-for-2 with his home run and three RBIs and Hahn was 2-for-2 with a homer and two RBIs. Joe Jacobitz was 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs, Billy Paganetti 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs and Joe Mercer 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs.


The two clubs meet in a 5 p.m. doubleheader today.
