Carson shows respect for Korean War vets

The resolution passed by the Board of Supervisors to make Carson City a commemorative community for Korean War veterans and their families is appreciated. Some may have forgotten the three-year conflict, but in the hearts and minds of servicemen who fought in the Korean War, the memories remain stong.

My thanks go out to Tod Jennings for his efforts in making the commemoration possible. Also, we must remember the brave South Korean people who stood up, and said, "No" to communism. Their sacrifices alongside our soldiers, sailors and airmen are unpralleled.

When we look at today's diversity between South and North Korea, we can all be proud of the Commemorative Korean War Flag which will fly above Carson City Hall each Veteran's Day.
