Carson Valley AARP, Chapter No. 3683, is sponsoring a 55 Alive/mature driving course from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Nov. 13 at the Minden Medical Center at Highway 395 and Ironwood Dr. There will be a break for lunch.
The course is an eight-hour refresher session dealing with normal age related physical changes, rules of the road, safety precautions and other awareness situations facing all drivers.
The course fee is $10, payable by check at the time of the session. The fee covers the cost of materials.
Instructors are volunteers certified by the state of Nevada.
At the completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate good for three years. Nevada State law mandates that insurance companies grant an appropriate discount to seniors for class participation.
Early reservations are advised. AARP membership is not required.
