Carson volleyball team

The Carson volleyball team set up its showdown for first place in the Sierra League against Douglas with a 15-11, 15-4, 15-1 win Tuesday at Hug.

Carson improved to 13-2. "We didn't play real intense, which is what I expected," said Carson Coach Daryl James.

Ryanne Amodei had 22 assists, Jennifer Saunders had six kills and five blocks, Rachael DeRiemer had seven kills and two aces, Kaitlin Leck had nine kills and five aces, Chrissy Joseph served for three aces and Heidi Alexander added three aces for Carson, which is scheduled to play Thursday at Douglas.

"I think if we can play hard, it should be a real good match," James said. "There's a lot on the line."
