The Carson volleyball team was able to continue its perfect start to the season without much trouble against Wooster.

Carson swept Wooster 15-8, 15-9, 15-6 Tuesday at home to improve to 5-0.

"Obviously, you can't be better than perfect," Carson Coach Daryl James said.

But James said the toughest part of the schedule is still left for the Senators. "We've got some good teams coming up," he said.

One of those teams should be Wooster when his team has to travel to Reno for the rematch, James said.

"Wooster is better than they played tonight," he said. "I'm not sure they played as well as they can.

"They worry me. We'll have to be ready to play when we go to their place."

James did say he was pleased with his team's defensive play Tuesday.

Kaitlin Leck and Megan Anderson led the offense. Leck had 12 kills and three blocks and Anderson added 11 kills and Jennifer Saunders had a strong all-around match with five kills, five blocks and two aces. Rachel DeRiemer had a strong all-around match as well with four kills, four blocks and two aces.

Katie Dill added four kills while Ryanne Amodei had 32 assists and five aces.

Leading the serve receive effort were Heidi Alexander and Leck. Alexander was a perfect 23-of-23 in passing while Leck was 21-of-21. Chrissy Joseph also played well defensively.

Carson will next play Thursday at home against Reno.
