A Carson City woman faces charges of domestic battery with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend Saturday afternoon.

Myra Jean Wyatt, 47, was arrested at 3:10 p.m. on the corner of Oak Street and Roventini Way in Carson City after a domestic dispute with boyfriend Vern Mullen, who received a stab wound to his shoulder during the altercation, police said.

Mullen told deputies that Wyatt had been drinking when an argument ensued over the question of his fidelity. After the argument, Wyatt appeared to calm down and asked Mullen if she could borrow his knife, according to reports.

She said she wanted "to cut something," according to deputies. Once Wyatt had the knife, she allegedly stabbed Mullen's right shoulder.

After the incident at Clearview Drive and Cochise Street, Wyatt fled the scene but was picked at Oak Street and Roventini Way by Carson City park rangers, according to reports.

Mullen, who had bloody scratches on his ears, face, neck and upper body, refused treatment for the knife wound, deputies said.

According to police, Wyatt had two prior arrests for domestic violence, one of them with a deadly weapon. She was taken to the Carson City jail, and arrested for the investigation of domestic battery with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $30,000.
