Douglas Basketball hits a hot streak

Erik Olson and the Douglas High boys basketball team picked the right time to become red hot at the Poweraid Holiday Prep Classic in Las Vegas.


After two tough losses in the event, Douglas came back to beat Basic of Las Vegas 67-54 on Wednesday.


Olson hit 7-of-8 shots and was 5-of-7 from the foul line in scoring 19 points to lead the Tigers. Seth Lee was 6-of-1- from the floor and hit three 3-pointers on his way to scoring 15 points.


Robby Honer added 10 points and nine rebounds, Will Thomas and Dominik Prosser each scored six points and Travis Baker and Luke Rippee each added four assists for Douglas. The Tigers were 23-of-49 from the floor, 8-of-16 on 3-pointers and 13-of-15 from the foul line.


On Tuesday, Douglas lost to Palo Verde of Las Vegas 69-62 after leading 31-28 at halftime. Lee scored 24 points, Olson had 12 points and Thomas added 10 points for the Tigers.
