A Carson City man is in police custody, suspected of hitting a parked car early Sunday morning, injuring its occupant, and fleeing the scene.
Calvin Anthony Beach, 21, was arrested at his home in the 500 block of West College Parkway after deputies located his damaged 1987 Honda Accord in the parking lot, reports indicate.
The victim was taken to Carson-Tahoe Hospital as a result of the accident.
He reportedly drove under the influence and hit the victim's car at 3:44 a.m. in a bank parking lot at Research Way and College Parkway. When police located him, he was lying in his bed with blood-soaked clothes on the floor next to him. He was bleeding from the lip and claimed not to know what had happened.
When deputies further questioned Beach, he admitted he had driven under the influence and reportedly became emotional at the suggestion that he had hit someone. Beach was held on $40,000 bail and also charged with using fictitious car plates. The plates reportedly belonged to his ex-girlfriend.
