An early-morning accident on Washoe Hill sent a Carson City woman to the hospital on Wednesday.

Linda Ann Martinez, 47, was helicoptered to Washoe Medical Center, where she was treated and released for her injuries.

The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Highway 395 at about 6 a.m.

According to Highway Patrol spokesman Patrick McGill, the crash occurred when Martinez lost control of her 1987 Jeep, which over turned and came to rest blocking the slow lane. The rear of the Jeep was hit by a 1999 Honda driven by Mitchell Wayne Varner, 41, of Carson City.

Varner was not hurt in the accident, which closed one lane of the highway for about 15 minutes while the helicopter landed.
