The Galena girls basketball team broke open a tight game in the second half on its way to a 52-32 win over Wooster on Tuesday.


Galena led 19-18 before going on to break open the game in the second half. "The second half we played much better," Galena coach Karen Friel said.


Joanna Hixon scored 16 points, Kellie Burton had 11 points and Seslee Howell added six points, all on free throws, as she went 6-for-6 from the line for the Grizzlies. Annie Baxter also played well defensively for Galena, helping to hold Wooster's standout player, Maggie Lazzari to six points.
