The USDA Surplus Food distribution will be held Thursday at Carson Valley Community Food Closet in the Hussman Building, 1255 Waterloo Lane near Lampe Park from 8 a.m.-noon.
This is a one-day distribution for Douglas County recipients only.
A variety of food will be available and may include cereal (corn), pinto beans, egg noodles, vegetable soup, plums, green beans and macaroni.
The Emergency Food Assistance is geared to those who are on the food stamp program, seniors and those on Social Security who qualify. Each recipient must present identification, a food voucher and proof of income. For details call Diane Malone on Monday or Wednesday at 782-3711 from 1-4 p.m.
