Routine questioning of a man who was reportedly hanging around Mark Twain Elementary School, turned into the arrest Wednesday of four men for suspicion of being illegal aliens.

Deputies discovered the men at about 9:30 a.m. at the Sierra Madre Apartments on West Winnie Lane, where the man seen at the school reportedly lived. According to Chief Sheriff's Deputy Scott Burau, the men could not provide identification, so the Immigration and Naturalization Service was called.

Officers from the INS took the men into custody and, depending on what criminal background checks reveal, the men could be deported, according to an INS officer.

The man questioned by deputies was not arrested.
