Letter: A gross misstatement at best

This letter is in response to the comments made by Carl Trink who is running for Storey County Commissioner, in last week's Nevada Appeal. In the first place, since Mr. Trink has been in office he has done nothing for the residents in the Mark Twain area. The only time he appears is during elections campaigns or if there is a commissioners meeting at the fire house.

On the other hand Greg "Bum" Hess has consistenly tried to be of assistance to the residents of this area. Mr. Hess has worked with the sheriff's office to get some traffic patrolling of the Mark Twain area and Six-mile Canyon where speeding is a way of life. I have never heard Mr. Trink speak in favor of anything that does not pertain to the river district and Lockwood. We have lived in our present home since 1979 and not one other commissioner outside of Mr. Hess has even acknowledged Mark Twain existed in Storey County. In fact we used to be referred to as the "arm pit" of Storey County.

He may be doing a good job for the district he lives in, that I cannot say, but for Mr. Trink to even imply he has done anything for the Mark Twain area is a gross misstatement at best.
