Letter: Denying marijuana to ill would be tragic

It would be tragic not to have medical marijuana for the terminally ill with its therapeutic values. "It's a true solution to help solve the old ones." It's a public health issue not a scam. Please don't deprive a terminally ill patient medical marijuana as another option when radiation and chemotherapy side effects become too much to endure.

It's a private matter between doctor and loved ones who care for him or her in a way that would let them eat, relax and try to be as comfortable as possible. The state of Nevada could sort out the conflicting state and federal laws for the terminally ill.

It coudld also be an economic stimulant for the University of Nevada's Millennium Scholarship Program instead of being funded in part by cigarette tax. The University's Agriculture Department could grow "ameliorate" amounts of marijuana then the board of medical examiners could administer distribution to pharmacies.

Let's send a positive message of it being a care-giving legacy to leave for future generations that medical marijuana is an issue completely unrelated to the war on drugs.

Please vote yes for it for the terminally ill. Just give it a change the natural way.
