RENO - A man accused of working and living in Reno for the last 15 years under another man's identity has pleaded innocent to a charge of obtaining credit under someone else's name.
Washoe District Judge Jim Hardesty on Friday set an Aug. 28 trial date for William Donald Walton, who has lived in Reno since the mid-1980s under the name Roy M. Vasquez.
The real Roy Vasquez is an accountant for the King County Sheriff's Office in Seattle.
Walton is charged with using Vasquez's personal identifying information for the unlawful purpose of obtaining credit.
Police said Walton had been using Vasquez's name, Social Security number and date of birth to gain employment, apply for credit and dodge income taxes.
Investigators still are piecing together Walton's background.
Most recently, he worked as security supervisor at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Reno. He also worked as a deputy constable in Sparks and Incline Village.
