Matt Williams golf tournament set

Before he went on to major league prominence, Matt Williams played baseball for Carson High School and for the Carson Capitols summer program.

On the weekend of Oct. 14-15, the annual Matt Williams Carson Capitols Golf Tournament will be held to raise funds for the Capitols.

The weekend activities will begin on Saturday night, Oct. 14, with a cocktail party, auction and raffle at the Carson Nugget.

Then on Sunday, Oct. 15, the 18-hole four-person scramble tournament and barbecue will be held at Empire Ranch Golf. The field of players will be comprised of local entrants as well as some celebrities, who will be announced at a later date. The entry is $100 per player.
