Some 40 dealers from seven different states are expected to offer collectibles from Carson City silver dollars to historic papers, medals, foreign coins and jewelry at the Nevada State Museum's Carson City Mint Coin show Sept. 9-10.

"If you have any old coins or currency lying around the house and are wondering if they are worth anything, this will be the perfect opportunity to bring them to the museum and talk directly with coin experts," said show coordinator Greg Corbin.

He said the Carson City show is unique because it's the only one held in an actual mint - the old U.S. mint building on North Carson Street.

Silver and bronze Carson City Millennium commemorative coins will be available for purchase during the show. Local artist Carol Foldvary-Anderson designed the silver medallion. Carson High School student Kaleb Temple designed the bronze medallion.
