A fight in a Carson City mobile home park turned dangerous Friday when a man fired a gunshot, but no injuries were reported.

Police responded to the Crestview Mobile Home Park, in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road, after reports of a gunshot at 3:20 p.m.

When they arrived, the suspect was gone and the victim, who was not hit, was inside the home at Space 2. A shell casing, believed to be from a .38-caliber semi-automatic handgun, was taken into evidence.

The 27-year-old victim told investigators that he and the suspect were involved in a scuffle during which the suspect hit him with the butt of a semi-automatic pistol.

The victim was knocked to the ground, and the suspect then allegedly fired one shot at the victim's head.

The victim moved just in time to avoid being hit.

Officers were canvassing the area, looking for a suspect described as wearing jeans, a blue sweater and sandals, approximately 28 years old.

According to witnesses, the suspect fled west out of the park on foot.
