Arthur E. Lawrence, 71, a Carson City resident for the past seven years, died July 19, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born Feb. 18, 1929, in Westmoreland, N.Y., to Thomas E. and Nora Tanner Lawrence.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Fremont, Calif. for more than 30 years.
Mr. Lawrence worked for N.V. Heathorne as a sheet metal superintendent.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by wives Ann Marie Lawrence, his wife of 40 years who died in 1989 and Connie Warren.
Among his survivors are his wife Pauline Bell; son Martin and daughter Kathy, both of Fremont, Calif.; and sisters Shirley Evans of Vernon, N.Y. and Ada Block of Mayville, N.Y.
No service will be held.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
