A memorial service for Arthur E. Nystrom, 73, a Carson City resident for the past 15 years, will be at 7 p.m. today at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.
Mr. Nystrom died Nov. 5, 2000, in Silver Springs. He was born April 18, 1927, in Dickinson, N.D., to Hjalmar and Marie Orthengren Nystrom.
He married Flora Finzell in San Francisco April 29, 1967.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Pacifica, Calif.
Mr. Nystrom worked for American National Can Co. in Oakland, Calif. for 33 years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association for many years.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Gene Duran June 5, 1988, in San Francisco and John Duran July 27, 1997 in Carson City.
Among his survivors are his wife Flora of Carson City; daughter Sean Nystrom of Sacramento, Calif.; daughter-in-law Judy Duran of San Francisco and grandchildren Christine Duran and Donny Duran.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
