A memorial service for Carl A. Lascheck, 81, a Carson City resident for the past two years, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
Mr. Lascheck died Sept. 17, 2000. He was born Sept. 13, 1919, in Topeka, Kan., to Mathias and Rose Mary Kinderknecht Lascheck.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Twin Falls, Idaho, coming from Grass Valley, Calif.
Mr. Lascheck worked for 16 years for North America Rockwell. He attended St. Teresa's Church. He enjoyed Dixieland Jazz, carpentry, fishing and his grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II for four years.
He was preceded in death by his brother Max in May 2000 and sister Rose Mary Milec in 1993.
Among his survivors are his wife of 51 years Norma of Carson City; sons Carl of Sacramento, Calif., Tom of Hailey, Idaho, James of Vancouver, Wash. and John of Grass Valley; daughters Jean McKenna of Carson City, Mary Pingree of Grass Valley, Rose Zerbel of Soda Springs, Calif. and Janet Hobbs of Blanco, N.M.; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.
Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
