A memorial service for Charlotte A. Schwandt, 84, a Wellington resident for the past 23 years, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Smith Valley United Methodist Church, 44 Rivers Road, Wellington.
Mrs. Schwandt died Dec. 10, 2000, at Washoe Medical Center. She was born March 20, 1916, in Bremen, Germany.
She arrived in the New York area in January 1931 and moved to Los Angeles in the spring of 1932 where she met Rudy Schwandt. They were married Nov. 3, 1935, in Los Angeles.
Before moving to Wellington, she lived in Lancaster, Calif.
Mrs. Schwandt was a homemaker. She was a member of the Eastern Star, California Historical Society, Extension Homemakers and a hospital volunteer and dedicated friend. She was a Methodist.
Among her survivors are her husband of 65 years; daughters Marjorie Urrea of Topaz Lake and Carolyn Luschar of Dayton; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Smith Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery, is in charge of arrangements.
