Clarence Leroy Ryser, Jr., 57, a Virginia Beach, Va. resident, died Sept. 8, 2000. He was born in Louisville, Ky.
He was a resident of Carson City from 1971-82. While in Carson City, he worked in construction and at the Nevada State prison.
Mr. Ryser was a carpentry union member working with the W.F. Magann Corporation. He was a registered representative of W.M.A. Securities and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, receiving several honorable citations including the National Defense Service Medal and the Bronze Star.
Among his survivors are his wife Gloria; mother Grace Kennedy of Norfolk, Va.; stepmother Betty Ryser of Texas; children Patricia Lynn Cripe of Sacramento and Robert Lavern Ryser of Carson City; grandchildren Holly and Laura Cripe of Sacramento; sister Gloria Bargas of Carson City and sister-in-law Elsie Vidad of Belville, N.J.
A funeral was held at Altmeyer Funeral Home in Virginia Beach.
Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
