A memorial service celebrating the life of Clinton W. Bryan, 79, a Woodfords resident for the past 26 years, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Community Church in Genoa.
Mr. Bryan died Nov. 3, 2000. He was born in Placerville, Calif.
Mr. Bryan retired from the California Department of Transportation in 1976. He was an expert in avalanche control, an avid outdoorsman and sportsman and he spent much of his life exploring in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Among his survivors are his wife Jeannine; son and daughter-in-law Cactus and Betsy Bryan; grandchildren Franziska, Beau and Dallas Bryan of Boulder, Colo.; sister Marianne Schroth of Placerville, Calif.; five stepchildren and five step-grandchildren living in the Nevada and California areas.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sierra Regional Eye Bank, Sacramento, CA.
