A memorial service for Elizabeth "Betty" Van Hook will be at 4 p.m. Friday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Carson City.
Mrs. Van Hook died Aug. 19, 2000 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born Oct. 26, 1913, in Walla Walla, Wash., to J.W. and Elizabeth Hall.
She grew up in Seattle and attended Cornish, a fine arts college. She then pursued modeling and acting careers in San Francisco and Los Angeles. She was known for her fine taste and abilities in decorating.
She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Carson City.
She married James T. Van Hook in 1944; they were divorced in 1969.
In 1986, she moved to Carson City and in 1995, she moved to Salt Lake City.
She was preceded in death by her sister Evelyn.
Among her survivors are her daughter Christina, of Carson City; son Peter, of Salt Lake City; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A private graveside service for the family will be held in Seattle at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
