Obituary: Ernest James Breland

Ernest James Breland, 82, a Silver Springs resident for the past 10 years, died Nov. 2, 2000, at his home. He was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Wiggins, Miss., to Mary Jane Booth.

Before moving to Silver Springs, he lived in Modesto, Calif.

Mr. Breland worked in maintenance at the Veterans Administration Hospital. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and Cooties.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Among his survivors are his wife Barbara of Silver Springs; stepsons Michael Mills of Woodsbouro, Texas, and Donald Murray and Larry Murray of Oklahoma City, Okla.; stepdaughters Robin Mulroney of Colorado and Carol Waterman of North Platte, Neb.; nieces Lettce Fairley, Celeste Fairley and Mildred Copeland and adopted family Laurel, Frank, Amanda, Frankie, Adam and Zach Crandell of Silver Springs.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
