A memorial service for George John Costella, 71, a Carson City resident for the past eight years, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church.
Mr. Costella died Nov. 17, 2000 at his home. He was born Sept. 3, 1929, in New York, N.Y., to Salvatore and Guliette Coleman Costella.
He married Cheryl Schofield Sept. 27, 2000 in Carson City.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in New York City.
Mr. Costella worked as a security guard. He was a retired member of Local 54 Theatre, Amusement and Cultural Service Employees. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Louie and Salvatore and sisters Trudy Lamb and Anna Mae Baskowitz.
Among his survivors are his wife Cheryl and son Daniel, both of Carson City and sons Richard and William, both of New York City; daughter Susan Evans of Washoe Valley; brothers Alexander of Walnut Creek, Calif. and Robert and Bennett, both of Toms River, NJ; sisters Cloe Rafanelli, Katie Moran and Carol McDermott, all of New Jersey and seven grandchildren.
Inurnment will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
