A graveside service for Harry Edgar Morris, 70, a Sparks resident for the past 21 years, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
Mr. Morris died Aug. 19, 2000 at his home. He was born March 16, 1930, in Topeka, Kan., to Benjamin Otis and Anna North Morris.
Before moving to Sparks, he lived in Germany.
Mr. Morris was a chief automobile mechanic and worked for General Motors in Germany. He also worked for DMV as a vehicle inspector for 16 years. He was a member of Wild Creek Golf Course and Bad Nauheim Golf Course. He was a Protestant.
He retired as Chief Warrant Officer from the U.S. Army after 25 years of service. He served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam and was awarded the Soldier's Medal.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Among his survivors are his wife Inge E., of Sparks; sons Dale, of West Jordan, Utah and Dana, of Carson City; sisters Betty Cummings and Sharon Rapp, both of Kansas; three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
