A memorial service for Harry Richard Lammay, 76, a Carson City resident for the past 12 years, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at High Sierra Fellowship in Gardnerville.
Mr. Lammay died Sept. 7, 2000 at his home. He was born July 17, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Roseville, Calif., South Lake Tahoe and Salinas, Calif.
Mr. Lammay owned his own grocery business in Salinas before moving to South Lake Tahoe and then Roseville, where he worked as a butcher. During his time in Carson City, he managed the Frontier Motel until his retirement three years ago. He enjoyed friends and family, Keno and was an avid sports fan, especially of the San Francisco Giants. In 1995, he traveled to Mexico to work on a missionary trip to the village of Hidalgo.
He was a Christian and a member of High Sierra Fellowship.
He served in the U. S. Army during World War II, in both North Africa and Italy.
Among his survivors are his children John of Red Bluff, Calif., Jean Stevens of Carson City, Richard of Gardnerville, Rene'e Quell of Carson City and David Skelton of Roseville; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Capitol City Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
