A memorial service for James T. Foster, 91, a Reno resident for the past five years, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 1070 W. Plumb Lane in Reno.
Mr. Foster died Dec. 13, 2000, at Select Speciality Hospital at St. Mary's. He was born Aug. 23, 1909, in Valley, Neb., to John and Angie King Foster. He was raised in Valley.
He graduated from the University of Nebraska in geology.
Before moving to Reno, he lived in Vacaville, Calif., for 23 years coming from Carson City where he lived for 42 years.
Mr. Foster owned grocery and meat markets for 42 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Warren Engine Co. Fire Department, Carson City Lodge No. 1 F&AM, the YMCA and the University Club, University of Nevada. He was a Presbyterian.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret in 1995.
Among his survivors are his daughters Nancy Beach and JoAnn Elston, both of Reno; grandchildren Mark Elston, Lori Elston, Sharon Kestrel and Eric Svensson and great-grandchildren Jenny, Becky, Jimmy and Michael Elston and Emma Svensson.
Inurnment will be at Masonic Memorial Gardens.
