A funeral for Jeanne Frances Burge, 77, a Carson Valley resident for the past 53 years, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Carson City.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Burge died Oct. 30, 2000 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born July 8, 1923, in Spokane, Wash., to James and Ella Kaufman Houk.
Before moving to Carson Valley, she lived in Sacramento, Calif.
Mrs. Burge was a homemaker. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, crocheting, playing bingo and sewing. She sang in her church choir and was active in several Bible classes and other church activities.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Margaret Houk and Blanche Bartlett.
Among her survivors are her sons Edward Gansberg, Richard Gansberg and James Gansberg, all of Carson City, Duane Gansberg of Sacramento and Robert Gansberg of Citrus Heights, Calif.; daughter Elli Nielsen of Carson City; sisters Eu Faula Haliday of North Highlands, Calif. , Martha Francis of Mt. Clair, Calif. , Patricia Gansberg of Coleville, Calif, Janes Ogle of Sun City, Ariz. and Jeanette Hinton of Rocklin, Calif. eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
