A Mass of Resurrection for Joseph E. Beres, 85, a Gardnerville resident for the past 22 years, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Gall Catholic Church with Father Bill Nadeau celebrant.
Mr. Beres died July 15, 2000 at Carson Health Care. He was born March 18, 1915, in Gary, Ind., to John A. and Anna Lukacs Beres.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Northridge, Calif.
Mr. Beres worked for U.S. Steel in Gary for 21 years. He was a long-time member of the Hungarian Club in Gary. He loved reading and dancing.
He was a member of St. Gall.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty in 1997 in Gardnerville and brothers John and Robert.
Among his survivors are his sons Jerry of Fallbrook, Calif., James R. of Gardnerville and David J. of Genoa; daughter, Carole Uebe of Red Lake Falls, Minn.; brother Edward K. of Sun City West, Ariz.; sister Ann Shimko of Wheatfield, Ind.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
Inurnment will be at the Genoa Cemetery in Genoa.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
