Leona Cooper, 92, a Topaz Ranch Estates resident for 14 years, died Friday at South Lyon Medical Center.
Mrs. Cooper was born Feb. 7, 1908 in Fontenale, Iowa, to Carl and Florence Gallup Ewing.
She married Walter Cooper on Sept. 22, 1953 in Reno, Nev.
Mrs. Cooper moved to Topaz Ranch Estates after moving there from Murrieta, Calif., where she lived for more than 40 years.
She was a member of the Topaz Sage Hens Homemakers. She raised and trained horses and enjoyed her birds, dogs and working with children.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tommy Hotz in Sagle, Idaho in 1991.
She is survived by her husband, Walter of Topaz Ranch Estates, her daughter, Joan Roripaugh of Topaz Ranch Estates; her daughter-in-law, Beverly Hotz of Sagle, Idaho; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
No services will be held. Cremation will be through FitzHenry's Crematory. FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City is in charge of arrangements.
