A memorial Mass for Lois M. Blanton, 66, a Gardnerville resident for the past 17 years, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Gall Parrish in Gardnerville with Father Bill Nadeau presiding.
Mrs. Blanton died Sept. 7, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born April 19, 1934, in Marionthall, Kan., to Mervyn and Esther Schimdt Crouse.
Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in Winnemucca.
Mrs. Blanton was an employee of Caesars Tahoe and was always one of the volunteers working with the holiday programs for the needy. She loved cooking and was devoted to her family. She was a long-time member of BPW when she lived in Winnemucca. She was a member of St. Gall.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Among her survivors are her mother Irene Crouse of Yerington; husband Clyde of Gardnerville; son Nathan and wife Lori of Winnemucca; daughters Marla Sherwood of Gardnerville and LaVonne Ghanavati and Donna Johnson, both of Reno; brothers Dwight Crouse of Wyoming and Mark Crouse of Carson City; sisters Kathy Crouse of Michigan, Myrna McCowan of Yerington, Carol Turner of Fallon and Norma Sacchini of Bakersfield, Calif.; four grandsons; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
