Obituary: Lucille Terrence "Terry" Daugherty

Lucille Terrence "Terry" Daugherty, 78, a resident of Wellington for the past 28 years, died August 16, 2000, in South Lake Tahoe. She was born October 12, 1921 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, and moved to the United States as a child.

After moving from San Jose in 1963, she and her husband Darrell settled in South Lake Tahoe for nine years beforemoving to Wellington.

Terry was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She had a special gift for painting and poetry, among many other artistic endeavors. Some of her oil paintings are currently displayed at "Home Again" in Wellington.

She and her husband operated The Terry Doll tavern in South Lake Tahoe during the 60s. She also worked as a sales associate for J. Magnin in South Lake Tahoe during that time.

She was preceded in death by her son, James Patrick Daugherty, in 1969.

She is survived by her husband Darrel of Wellington; daughter Kathleen Carter of Reno; daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Philip Bushnell of Volcano, Calif.; two granddaughters, Lori Norton and Christine Sumwalt of San Jose; and great-granddaughters Marissa Norton, Shanna Norton and Nina Fambrini of San Jose. She is also survived by sisters Beatrice Faris of Red Bluff, Calif., and Bernice Hystad of North Bend, Ore.; and a brother, William Manning of Gig Harbor, Wash., as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at McFarlane's Mortuary, 887 Emerald Bay Road, South Lake Tahoe, at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
