Marie Taylor Criss, 94, a Gardnerville resident for the past seven years, died Sept. 10, 2000 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Oct. 1, 1905, in New Castle, Pa., to Frank W. and Sylvia Holsinger Taylor.
Mrs. Criss was a graduate of New Castle High School in New Castle and West Penn Hospital Nursing School in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in Ventura, Calif.
Mrs. Criss was a registered nurse in Pennsylvania and Ventura for more than 40 years. She loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by her husband James O. in 1963 in Ventura and son James Lee in 1961, also in Ventura.
Among her survivors are her daughter Joan M. Swisher of Gardnerville; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service and inurnment will be held in Ventura.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
