Obituary: Marjorie Louise Mixter

A memorial service for Marjorie Louise Mixter, 80, a Carson City resident for the past 11 years, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Mixter died Aug. 16, 2000 at Carson Health Care. She was born Oct. 2, 1919, in Detroit, Mich., to Ray Gilbert and Louise Mary Maulbecker Shaw.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Harwick, Mass., coming from San Jose, Calif.

Mrs. Mixter was office manager for Cascade Mechanical Inc. which was owned by her deceased husband Ken Dorr Sr.

Mrs. Mixter was preceded in death by her husbands Ken Dorr Sr. and Dr. George Mixter Jr. and brother Ray Shaw.

Among her survivors are her son Ken Dorr Jr. of Carson City; stepdaughter Martha Heilemann of Manchester Center, Vt.; nieces Sandy Hatchell and Holly Black, and nephews Steve Shaw, Ed Shaw and Bob Shaw, all of Carson City; grandchildren Susan Banovich of Boulder, Colo., Adam Heilemann of Boston, Mass. and Jennifer Dorr of Carson City.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
