Obituary: Richard G. Ashworth

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. for Richard G. Ashworth, 74, at FitzHenry's Funeral Home, 833 N. Edmonds Drive, Carson City. Mr. Ashworth lived in Carson City for 47 years. He died October 14, 2000 at his home.

He was born Sept. 1, 1926, in Tulare, California, to Edward Ashworth and Alcoe Crose, and served in the Navy during World War II. He married Beverly Houser Sept. 17, 1959 in Sparks. A PBX installer for Nevada Bell, he retired in 1979. He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3726, and the Pioneers of Nevada Bell. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his family.

He is survived by his wife Beverly of Carson City, and sons Mike of Carson City, Robert of Spanish Springs, and Timothy of Desert Hot Springs California, daughters Nancy Anacleto of Lemoore, California, Ruth Beck of Tulare, California, Arlene Hall of Sacramento, California Karen Finley of Dayton: 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and his brother Donald Ashworth of Tucson, Arizona.

He is preceeded in death by his parents, a son, Steven in 1988, and one brother, Jack.

FitzHenry's Crematory is in charge of the cremation, and a memorial is being established with St. Mary's Hospice, 1155 W. Fourth Street, Reno, Nv. 89502.
