A memorial service for Robert William Adams, 40, a Carson City resident, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Mr. Adams died Nov. 24, 2000 at his home. He was born April 8, 1960, in Sacramento, Calif. to Lon and Marolyn Crowdis Adams.
He lived in Carson City from 1967-78, spent 10 years in Japan, then returned to Carson City.
He graduated from Carson High School in 1978, from UCLA in 1983 with a bachelor of science degree in philosophy and from the University of Chicago in 1991 with a Ph.D in philosophy.
Mr. Adams was a professor at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. He was a member of the Kichijoji Catholic Church in Tokyo.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1986.
Among his survivors are his mother Marolyn of Carson City; wife Hatsue Adams of Tokyo; brother and wife David and Cheryl Adams and sister and husband Dona and Jerry Etchison, all of Carson City.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospice, Reno; The Cancer Society or to St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
