Obituary: Roger J. String

Roger J. String, a Carson City resident for the past 20 years, died Nov. 13, 2000, at Carson Healthcare. He was born in Portland, Ore., to Thomas Edgar and Mona Williams String.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Mountain View, Calif.

Mr. String was a rancher. He was a member of the Elks Club and the American Legion. He was a Presbyterian. He enjoyed golf and playing tennis at the University of California, Davis.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a chief petty officer.

Among his survivors are his wife Hazel of Carson City and daughters Reda Bushard of Apple Valley, Minn., and Pam Suchsland of Carson City.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
