A memorial service for Stanley "Bud" Main, 79, a Carson City resident for the past four years, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Walton's.
Mr. Main died July 23, 2000 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born March 13, 1921, in Autagmi, Wis., to Stanley Sr. and Ethel Kemp Main.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Palo Alto, Calif.
Mr. Main was owner of a Palo Alto flying club and a flight instructor. He was a member of Hump Pilots Association. He was a protestant.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as an Air Force hump pilot flight officer.
Among his survivors are his wife Claire of Carson City; sons Kelly of California and Scott of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; daughters Lisa Mixer of Casper, Wyo. and Chrystal Main of Carson City and sister Florence Colbert of West Covina, Calif.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
