A remembrance service for Walter E. "Wally" Nelson, 70, a Carson City resident for the past 22 years, will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the family residence.
Mr. Nelson died Oct. 30, 2000, at his home. He was born April 22, 1930, in Iowa, to Earl and Mary Marts Nelson.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Hayward, Calif.
Mr. Nelson was owner-operator of Capitol Appliance in Carson City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Among his survivors are his wife Opal of Carson City; sons David of Davis, Calif., and Ross of Hayward, Calif.; daughters Susan Botich of Nevada City, Calif. and Sharon Perry of Hayward, Calif.; brothers Deane Lord and Scotty Ruff and sister Mary Burgoon, all of Carson City and four grandchildren.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
