The Carson City Senator Blue Pop Warner Junior Pee Wee football team lost 39-13 to the Reno 49ers in a game that was much closer than the score reflected.
Half of Reno's six touchdowns came off of special teams and a turnover. Carson was the first squad to score on a strong 49ers team this season.
Robbie Bozin rushed for more than 100 yards in the game and had a 56-yard
touchdown run for Carson. Also scoring on the last play of the game was Hunter Santillo on a 32-yard carry.
Carson moved the ball well but was hampered by several fumbles, including one returned for a 49er touchdown.
The Senator defense was led by Blake Davidson, Jayson Davis and Adam Carmazzi held the 49ers to three rushing touchdowns. The defensive line led by Ryan Knaak and Ryan Cunningham held strong, stopping three extra point attempts and four fourth down conversion attempts.
